This book was created to use in conjunction with small reading groups that use LLI-Leveled Literacy Instruction from Fountas and Pinnell. I created this resource as a way for my students to better keep track of the different genres as we study them. This could also be used as a scaffold in a typical classroom setting or with other small reading groups.
This book is a foldable resource, and the pages are numbered for ease of assembly. Make sure to print single sided (this PDF would create two identical books). To assemble, fold all of the papers hamburger and then hotdog style, stack them together, and staple at the very edge of the "spine."
Below is the outline of the book contents. Each genre page has a fill in the blank definition (answers are in BOLD below), a place for students to write their own examples, as well as a picture of a book from that genre.
