China is a very diverse country in terms of biomes, ecosystems, and geographical features. In this hand-on activity, a geographical feature map is made where students glue on natural materials and other objects that represent the ecological and geographical features of this country. Directions are described in a visual manner: the template for the country is provided as is the key which shows the locations of the various features of this diverse country. The features listed below are represented in this map. The finished maps look awesome and make for a great bulletin board!
Gobi desert, Taklimakan desert, Himalayas, Deciduous forests, Taiga, The Yellow and Yangtze Rivers, Rice Fields, Tropical Rain forest, Grasslands, Other Mountains, The Great Wall, Bamboo forest, Tibet, Mongolia
In addition, this resource also describes how to make large tabletop models of this country.
