This 60-minute middle school lesson plan will focus on the formation of continents and the major regions that constitute or define a continent.
At the end of the lesson, students are expected to answer the following questions:
• How did the continents form?
• What are the geographic features that define what a continent is?
• What is the estimated age of the oldest Earth material ever found?
This lesson will provide teachers with a lesson script, warm-up activity, guided/individual practice, lesson extension, project ideas, and handouts! One of the tasks students will complete involves them created a graphic organizer.
