“Utopia” is defined as “any real or imaginary society or place considered to be perfect or ideal.” In this project, students will create, illustrate, and explain their ideal society, including:
2. Colorful drawing
3. Written explanation
They are given 5 different scenarios to choose from (one being a zombie apocalypse, another being a futuristic society) and include 10 components including location, geography, waterways, communication, natural resources, etc. Brainstorm for their thoughts is included. This is sure a fun way to study geography and understand how and why people move and settl--and how where one lives affects how they live. This is a great "Back to School" or "end of the year" activity to introduce or sum up geography! Enjoy!
