Are you teaching a unit on International Mother language Day or the countries that make up Asia? "Where in the World is Bangladesh" has all of the geographical information your students need to know about the country of Bangladesh!
The packet includes:
maps to color and label
physical geography of Bangladesh (rivers, hills, sundarbans, etc.)
information about the capital
fun landmarks to visit
How I use this in my 2nd grade classroom:
I use this packet when I am teaching my unit on International Mother Language Day and the country of Bangladesh (where the holiday originated). I use the first page to review continents, countries, and bodies of water. I read the second page with my students and, together, we highlight names of places that we could find on a map (google earth). When we are finished reading, we go back into the reading, google earth the places that we highlighted, and plot them on a large classroom map. Once we finish our classroom map, the students label their own map on page 3. The fourth page of the packet describes Bangladesh's capital city and fun places to visit. Students can match the pictures to the names.
