These are step by step instructions for creating an angle bisector that will reinforce the compass - straightedge construction. Prior to this GSP lab, my students constructed angle bisectors on paper. This lab has them draw the same circles to reinforce and allow them to change and maneuver the diagram. The lab then has the students create the angle bisectors of a triangle to create the incenter. Questions include observations pertaining to the relationship of the incenter with the sides of the triangle. I finished the lab by having them include the inscribed circle. This lab took about 1 hour total. Lesson includes a worksheet with a few algebra examples the teacher can use to be sure they understand and a few homework problems.
