The typed directions provided byGeometers Sketchpad was not always at the level of understanding my students needed. This lesson not only acts as an introduction to Geometer's Sketchpad but also shows how to construct a perpendicular bisector. I first constructed the perpendicular bisector by hand with the students then used this to reinforce the concept. Geometer's Sketchpad helps with the visual understanding as to why the construction works.
In all my GSP lessons, I try to include thought provoking questions. This is a short lesson and an introduction, so there is only one question, but it is an important one in understanding. I usually have students type their answers on the screen so when they turn in the lab, I have their answers as well. This not only makes sure they are understanding but also doing every step.
I HAVE A TON OF THESE LESSONS. I am in the process of uploading. If you have a topic you are interested in, let me know, I probably have a lesson typed. I am also in the process of changing everything over to the new version of Geometer's Sketchpad.
