A great way to get students excited about math is by integrating creative learning experiences into the lesson. This project incorporates math concepts with the visual arts, specifically, the artwork of Auguste Herbin (a French modern painter best known for his abstract designs composed of geometric figures). This project is ideally done at the end of a math lesson on geometric shapes or other mathematical concepts such as: area, perimeter, angles and circumference.
In addition to the video, this lesson also includes downloadable lesson plans, extended learning opportunities, think sheets, and reflection sheet.
