This is a great, hands-on way to introduce students to geometric rotations! Students will PHYSICALLY TURN a coordinate plane using a "rotations mat" and then record the new coordinates of a figure using an activity sheet with tables. They will use what they record to determine the effects the transformation has on the coordinates of the vertices. Students will only be asked to rotate 90 degrees (clockwise and counterclockwise) and 180 degrees. Once they determine the effects, they can draw a new figure and test their hypothesis. I hope you love it and your students learn it!
