Geometry Bingo- This bingo game was created to help students remember geometric terms and information for plane and solid shapes. Included in this file are:
• 6 different bingo cards
• Slide show of bingo “clues”
Students will be asked to
• Cover the matching shape when given the name
• Cover the matching number of sides, angles, and vertices when given the shape
• Cover the matching number of faces, edges, and vertices when given the shape
The plane and solid shapes included in this game are:.
• Pyramid (rectangular)
• Rectangular prism
• Rectangle (quadrilateral)
• Trapezoid (quadrilateral)
To prepare for this game make a class set of the cards. Six different playing cards are included to allow for several different winners. Provide each student bingo chips or two sided counters to cover his or her boxes. The bingo calling clues can be handled one of two ways:
1.) Project on a Promethean or SMART board as a slide show. Start the show from the beginning and click through the slides as students cover their boards. When the game is over click on the slide sorter button and randomly reorder the slides. Then clear the student game boards and start the slide show over for a new game.
2.) Print out all the slides, one per page. This will allow the clues to be large enough for most students to see. Show students each Bingo clue card. When the game is over, random reorder the papers. Then clear the student game boards and being showing the mixed up cards for a new game.
I hope this helps your students review all those tricky geometric terms and concepts!
