A two page scavenger hunt for students to APPLY their knowledge of geometric and organic shapes. The students can use this handout to show off their knowledge and YOU can use this to assess their learning of shapes. The objective is to look around the room and find shapes. Once you find a shape decide if it's geometric or organic. Draw the shape in the appropriate place and write down what it is or where you found it. The students will enjoy playing this game and competing with their classmates to find shapes that other students didn't find.
I teach elementary art and I have used this in my classroom with 3rd grade but you can use it with any level. It goes perfectly as an intro to geometric and organic shapes or as an activity to do when students are finished with a project. My students have enjoyed the activity and showing off their observation skills. In my classroom I make it a competition and encourage students to find shapes that their classmates wont find. The kids love it and it amazes me to see their responses! Download this valuable resource and let your students blow you away with their knowledge of shapes!
