This new Windows application is a combination of a test generator and a tutorial. It can do an excellent job to help high school physics students become more efficient problem solvers in Geometrical Optics. The students can practice 252 original and carefully designed problems. Students can take an unlimited number of tests in one or more topics, and the maximum number of questions to answer is 100. In this test generator, the students select, one by one, and in any order from the entire data bank, the specific problems that will appear in the test. A data bank with all the problems in pdf format is provided in order to know the specific location of every problem. The questions are multiple choice, and the choices are constantly scrambled. A great feature is that right after answering each question, the problem is carefully explained step by step. At the end of the test, the students have the option of saving a test report of their performance in the computer.
It takes just a few minutes to learn to use this Tutorial/Test Generator. Simply place the Zip file in any folder or subfolder you want. Right click the mouse and select Extract all the files. The subfolder Optics SQ1 is created. From inside the subfolder, just select the file Start Test Generator, and the students are ready to begin practicing. It is that simple.
