I developed these quizzes to assess student basic knowledge of Chapter 2 Geometry material. Topics include: Logic (Converse, Inverse, Contrapositive, Biconditional, Inverse, Law of Detachment, Law of Syllogism), justification of solving for missing angles (vertical and complementary angles).
Included are three different quizzes.
The first quiz consist of three questions and is on a half sheet of paper.
Questions include: Identifying the hypothesis and conclusion of a conditional statement, identifying the converse and the biconditional (or a counterexample), and using the Law of Detachment to draw a conclusion. There are four versions of this quiz.
The second quiz consist of six questions and is on a full sheet of paper.
Questions include: Using the Law of Detachment or Law of Syllogism to draw a conclusion, indentiy a negation of a statement, and identify the inverse and contrapositive of a conditional statement. The sixth question is normally use a BONUS as it asks students to solve for a missing variable given a pair of complementary angles and justify each step with a reason. There are four versions of this quiz.
The third quiz is 15 questions and is two full pages and includes all logic topics. I sometimes use this quiz after we have covered more content as it includes a question involving parallel lines with a transversal knowledge. The third and fourth thumbnail are two pages from the A version of this quiz. There are two versions to the third quiz.
I did not include answer keys as I am assuming that you would want to solve them on your own quickly before you give these to your students.
