What educators are saying

My students loved this resource and so did I! Very helpful and very well done. Thank you for all your hard work
Fun activities for kids to engage in and show their learning. Great opportunities to observe their learning and assess as they 'play'! Love using this resource each year.

Description

This resource contains Geometry games and worksheets to help students work with 2D and 3D shapes. These games are a fun, hands-on way to review Geometry concepts throughout the school year. You'll also find a set of interactive shape posters and vocabulary posters. I have also included a digital option (Google Slides link) for many of the games and activities. Please take a look at the preview to see what is included with the printable and digital options.

When you download this .zip file, you will find four resources:

  • Geometry Game Day - this is a printable packet of Geometry Games
  • Geometry Practice - this is a printable packet of Geometry Worksheets
  • Geometry Posters - this is a printable packet of shape and vocabulary posters
  • Google Slides Links - copy and assign the pages you need in Google Classroom (there are separate links for the games, practice pages, and posters)

Printable Games - Each game is available in full-color and black & white

  • The Great Shape Race - This board game will have your students practicing naming 2-D and 3-D shapes.
  • Just Kickin’ It - There are four different versions of this game to choose from (sides, edges, vertices, 2-D vs. 3-D). Students spin and try to be the first to cover four squares in a row, column, diagonal, or square.
  • Slam Dunk Shapes - There are three different versions of this board game (2-D vs. 3-D, edges, angles). Students will spin and move to the nearest square that matches.
  • Can You Dig It? - This game is played like Go Fish. Students must ask for 2-D and 3-D shapes by name in order to find a match.
  • Crazy Shapes - This game is played like Crazy 8s and works with 2-D shapes.
  • Catch a Match - This game is played like Memory and works with 3-D shapes.
  • Give a Shout, Odd One Out - This game is played like Old Maid. Students are matching both 2-D and 3-D shapes to their written names.
  • Knock-Out Shapes - This game is played like War and works with 3-D shapes. Students spin to determine an attribute (faces, edges, or vertices). Students are comparing two shapes to find the one with the larger number of the attribute on the spinner.
  • Shape-Tac-Toe - This game is played like Tic-Tac-Toe and works with 2-D and 3-D shapes.
  • Dodgeball Bump - This game is played like Bump and works with 2-D and 3-D shapes.
  • Capture the Shapes - This game is played like Dots and Boxes and works with 2-D and 3-D shapes.

Printable Worksheets - I have included two cover options so you can create student workbooks. You could use these for independent work, homework, or intervention groups. Student pages include identifying shapes, sorts, graphing, fractions, and riddles. Here are all of the worksheets included:

  • A Sporty Sort
  • Touchdown Tally and Graph
  • The Shapes Strike Out
  • Slam Dunk Shapes
  • For the Record Books
  • Mystery Match

Printable Interactive Shape Posters - Each poster is available in full-color and black & white. There are 2-D and 3-D posters in this section. The shapes include: circle, oval, rectangle, square, triangle, rhombus, trapezoid, parallelogram, octagon, hexagon, pentagon, sphere, hemisphere, cylinder, cube, cone, rectangular prism, triangular pyramid, square pyramid, pentagonal pyramid, hexagonal prism, pentagonal prism, and triangular prism.
