**UPDATED** I have updated graphics in this unit. I also added a Regular and Irregular sort/activity and changed all the "corner" labels to "vertices".

Teach your students all about 2-Dimensional shapes! With many different activities (attribute posters, sorting sheets, 2D shape "Foldy Flaps", writing sheets, and a graph), this unit will meet the varying needs of your students. This product includes the following:

1. Attribute shape posters (circle, triangle, square, rectangle, rhombus, trapezoid, hexagon, and octagon)
2. Anchor chart materials and "Shape or Not?" sorts (circle, triangle, square, and rectangle)
3. "I See ____" worksheets, graph, and sorting mat (circle, square, triangle, and rectangle)
4. Attribute sorts (Corners/No Corners, Vertices/No Vertices, Round/Not Round, and Side/No Sides)
5. 2D shape Foldy flaps (circle, square, triangle, rectangle & rhombus, trapezoid, hexagon, and octagon) - matching attributes to correct shape
6. Shape writing sheets (one with a sentence stem and one without). Both writing sheets have a blank page for students to free-draw a shape.
7. Regular and irregular shape sort/activity

Common Core State Standards:
-K.G.A.2 {Correctly name shapes regardless of their orientations or overall size}
-K.G.B.4 {Analyze and compare two- and three-dimensional shapes, in different sizes and orientations, using informal language to describe their similarities, differences, parts (e.g., number of sides and vertices/“corners”) and other attributes (e.g., having sides of equal length)}

TEKS:
-K.6A {identify two-dimensional shapes, including circles, triangles, rectangles, and squares as special rectangles}
-K.6D {identify attributes of two-dimensional shapes using informal and formal geometric language interchangeably}
-K.6E {classify and sort a variety of regular and irregular two- and three-dimensional figures regardless of orientation or size}
-K.8A {collect, sort, and organize data into two or three categories}
-K.8B {use data to create real-object and picture graphs}
-1.6B {distinguish between attributes that define a two-dimensional or three-dimensional figure and attributes that do not define the shape}
-1.8B {use data to create picture and bar-type graphs}
