Worksheet for student answers
When using these in my 7th grade math classroom I put the powerpoint on google slides so students could access it on their chromebooks. I have previously printed out the slides and glued them to index cards, put them in plastic sleeve protectors, or put them on a prezi, the options for delivery are limitless and depend on your classroom style and school resources. I did these cards about two thirds of the way through our geometry unit to review the concepts we had learned, but they could also be
used for EOG review, or review in other grade levels.
There are 8 different levels, starting at Level 1 where students classify the type of triangle moving to solving for missing angles, circumference and area of circles, area of 2-D shapes, and ending at Level 8 with compound and inscribed shapes.
Students start on level 1 and when completed they raise their hand to get their paper checked off. In order to advance to the next level they must have every answer correct, I relate it to a video game and how they have to pass off every step before moving on. After they have passed the level they get the level 2 card, and so on. Students get really excited and competitive with these cards and treat them like a game.
