Product Description
The concept of measurement is always a struggle with students, especially the concept of area. This is a graphic organizer that can be used as a tool for students to understand the formulas that are used for figures. This organizer is meant for students to label the parts of the figures, write the formula used for area, and an explanation in words. The students use this as a tool during activities that require them to find these measurements. Everytime the formula is used, the students need to refer to the graphic organizer to find the parts in the problem to use.

***As a teaching strategy for ELL and Spec Ed (really any student), everytime the formula is refered to in the classroom, have the students say the formula in words not just variables, i.e. instead of referring to the area of a rectangle as a = bh have the students say "area of a rectangle is the measurement of the base times the measurement of the height". The reasoning behind this is because students don't make a connection between the letters and the meaning.
