### Description

This mini unit on 3 dimensional figures covers pyramids and prisms, as well as the concepts of faces, edges, vertices, and "nets" (3D figures that have been "flattened out" on paper and can be folded up to transform from 2D to 3D). These activities are hands on and accompanied by worksheets for students to explain their thinking as they work. These sheets make informal assessment easier for the teacher too!

This geometry unit includes:
✅ Suggested sequence of activities
✅ Three Dimensional Figures Worksheet (student worksheet and teacher instruction sheet)
✅ 7 pages of three dimensional figure nets (pentagonal prism, triangular prism, rectangular prism, square prism/cube, square pyramid, rectangular prism, pentagonal prism).
✅ Three dimensional figures worksheet (part 2)
✅ Vertices review sheet

Materials that you will need to complete this unit are:
► Card stock
► Tape
► Scissors (for each child)
► Toothpicks
► Gumdrops or mini marshmallows
► Colored construction paper
