These activities are perfect for guided and independent practice! You can set these out station style, or work through them with your students. There are five different activities included-
Tell Me About It!- Students have to draw the shape and write the number of sides and angles
What Shape Am I?- Students read the riddles and write the polygon that is being described
Color by Shape- Students color each polygon a specified color
Polygon... Or Not?- Students look at the cards and decide if the shape is a polygon or non-polygon
***For this activity, you have to make your own cards. I suggest drawing them on index cards with open and closed shapes
Polygon Scavenger Hunt- Students walk around the room and look for every day objects that are polygons. They then draw them in the correct box.
All five of these activities deal with the four major polygons in second grade- triangle, quadrilateral, pentagon, and hexagon.
