This is a large project bundle that focuses on geometry concepts learned in 6th grade in particular, but also adaptable to fifth and seventh grades as well or even a higher level class. The bundle addresses an entire geometry unit covering some of the sixth grade common core geometry standards as well as some previous standards in geometry learned in 4th and 5th grades: vocabulary includes rays, lines, angles, perpendicular, parallel, acute, obtuse, straight angles. It also covers 3D shapes, vertices, faces, edges, area, perimter, surface area, volume, triangles, interior and exterior angles, and more. The bundle is completely adaptable, so you may add or take out any info needed or not needed. This bundle covers 3 possible projects that I give my kids a choice between, making a Geomuseum, Geometry Amusement Park, or their own choice. It incorporates planning, organizing, building and all geometry content listed above. It includes a rubric of all expectations and point values for each of the above projects. It also includes a checklist to be initialed by the teacher as students complete certain tasks. I have also included an adapted version for each project that has less required but still covers the same content, so it can be differentiated. In addition I have included the adapted rubrics that go with these. There is a parent letter to introduce my expectations and the project, a place to mark goal deadlines for each piece of the project, and an adapted parent letter for differnt types of learners. I have also given some suggestions as well as mentioning that when we are finished we will have a museum day where parents and students walk through to see the students work. This is a project that would span over 2-3 weeks. You would teach the concepts and formulas and this is a great assessment. A very good project that will align with the rigor of the common core and performance based tasks and problem solving.
