This is a great project to tie in coordinate geometry with real-life problem solving. You can structure this a little or as much as you want. My students did amazing things with their presentations. Some made 3-D models with origami, PowerPoint Presentations, and one made video with her iPad. There is also a lot of room for differentiation for students with other needs. This is also a good into to perpendicular bisector (the locations of the schools and FD and PD usually create a square or kite, with diagonals that perp bis each other!)
Prerequisites: Pythagorean Theorem, Distance Formula, Midpoint Formula, and knowledge of coordinate plane.
