Early Years Learning Framework Australia Outcome 4: Children are confident and involved learners - Children develop a range of skills and processes such as problem solving, inquiry, experimentation, hypothesising, researching and investigating.

Australian Curriculum ACMMG010 Mathematics / Foundation Year / Measurement and Geometry / Location and transformation - interpreting the everyday language of location and direction, such as ‘between’, ‘near’, ‘next to’, ‘forwards’, ‘towards’

Activities include:

Cut, color and paste castle and pirate ship. Each child will then have their own pirate or princess to place in various positions relative to the castle or pirate ship on instruction from teachers.

Worksheets for children to paste pictures from magazines showing a variety of relative positions.

Worksheets to trace the position words and color the positions.
