The Geometry Scavenger Hunt activity is a fun way for elementary and middle school students to review vocabulary terms they have learned in a geometry unit. This download includes a beautiful color copy designed to look like an old pirate's map, and includes 20 terms most often associated with beginning geometry students.
Scavenger hunts can be presented in multiple ways. When students are divided into small groups, they can search for the terms throughout their school, using digital cameras or phones. This activity can also be confined to the classroom, as studens search through magazines to cut and paste examples found in pictures. Additionally, individual students can take the map home to find tangible examples in their homes. Whatever approach is taken, the scavenger hunt is a stimulating and entertaining way to visually interpret vocabulary words.
