Geometry Scoot is a fast-paced game that will have your students engaged, learning, and having fun! Students will name 2D and 3D shapes, name lines and angles, and name the number of edges, faces and vertices on given shapes. Students are asked to draw a line of symmetry on 2 given shapes. The tasks cover CCSS for grades 3-5. This game is best suited for grades 4-5, but 3rd can benefit, too depending on their level of knowledge. Use only the cards appropriate for your class. There are 32 playing cards, a student answer sheet, and key.

Use these cards with your guided math groups and at math centers. Try them as a formative assessment tool, too!

Recognize a line of symmetry for a two-dimensional figure as a line across the figure such that the figure can be folded along the line into matching parts. Identify line-symmetric figures and draw lines of symmetry.
Draw points, lines, line segments, rays, angles (right, acute, obtuse), and perpendicular and parallel lines. Identify these in two-dimensional figures.
Understand that shapes in different categories (e.g., rhombuses, rectangles, and others) may share attributes (e.g., having four sides), and that the shared attributes can define a larger category (e.g., quadrilaterals). Recognize rhombuses, rectangles, and squares as examples of quadrilaterals, and draw examples of quadrilaterals that do not belong to any of these subcategories.
Recognize and draw shapes having specified attributes, such as a given number of angles or a given number of equal faces. Identify triangles, quadrilaterals, pentagons, hexagons, and cubes.
