Thanksgiving Dinner: Geometry Game
This game is used to practice identifying and describing 2D geometric shapes during the Thanksgiving season. Students practice identifying and describing circles, polygons, triangles, squares, rectangles, rhombi, trapezoids, quadrilaterals, parallelograms, diamonds, pentagons, octagons, and hexagons. This game is flexible and students should be able to use whatever method you prefer them to use to solve when playing this game. It's a 2-4 person game where students try to be the first person to fill up their plate for Thanksgiving dinner. Each time a student answers a game card question, they get to take a piece of food to put on their plate. There are also chance cards in the deck that may help a student or put them back a few paces during the game! My students LOVE this game at Thanksgiving each year and enjoy picking out which "foods they will eat" from the middle. The best part is--the students have no idea how much they are learning! This game is a great practice or review game to see who understands a concept you are teaching and who is still struggling with the material. It comes with 48 questions on game cards, 24 chance cards, and an answer key!
