The Geometry Town project has students making a town using steps that tells you how many parallel, perpendicular, and transversals lines (streets) to use. Then, there are buildings and places such as the police station, gas station, school, etc. that need to be placed in the town according to relationships such as "the police station is alternate interior to the gas station" and "the gas station is corresponding to the school". The project is challenging but fun! It generally takes my classes two (2) 50 min periods to complete it along with a final poster. A checklist of all required locations/relationships between buildings are attached for the students/teacher along with a rubric.
