Product Description
This fun hands on geometry unit is aligned to the Common Core and contains 173 pages of shape centers, 2D and 3D posters, pattern block worksheets, and much more.

Included in this pack are activities for whole group instruction, small group instruction, and math centers.

Here is what's included:
6 2D shape posters to be cut out and mounted (I find cutting out shape posters helps students recognize the shape rather then having them printed out on 8 by 11.5 sheets)

6 2D shape posters that include the number of edges and vertices each shape has.

1 2D shape mini- poster that contains all 6 shapes (perfect to print and put in student folders as a reference)

1 All About the Circle book (5 pages, includes write the name of the shape, drawing the shape and the number of edges and vertices)

1 All About the Triangle book (5 pages, includes write the name of the shape, drawing the shape and the number of edges and vertices)

1 All About the Rhombus book (5 pages, includes write the name of the shape, drawing the shape and the number of edges and vertices)

1 All About the Hexagon book (5 pages, includes write the name of the shape, drawing the shape and the number of edges and vertices)

1 All About the Square book (5 pages, includes write the name of the shape, drawing the shape and the number of edges and vertices)

1 All About the Trapezoid book (5 pages, includes write the name of the shape, drawing the shape and the number of edges and vertices)

6 3D shape posters to be cut out and mounted (I find cutting out shape posters helps students recognize the shape rather then having them printed out on 8 by 11.5 sheets)

6 3D shape posters that include the number of edges and vertices each shape has.

1 All About the Cone book (5 pages, includes write the name of the shape, drawing the shape and the number of edges and vertices)

1 All About the Sphere book (5 pages, includes write the name of the shape, drawing the shape and the number of edges and vertices)

1 All About the Cylinder book (5 pages, includes write the name of the shape, drawing the shape and the number of edges and vertices)

1 All About the Pyramid book (5 pages, includes write the name of the shape, drawing the shape and the number of edges and vertices)

1 All About the Cube book (5 pages, includes write the name of the shape, drawing the shape and the number of edges and vertices)

1 All About the Rectangular Prism book (5 pages, includes write the name of the shape, drawing the shape and the number of edges and vertices)

3D shapes worksheets (faces, edges, and vertices)
2 3D shape sort
8 shape hunt worksheets (2D and 3D)
I have... who has... shape game (both 2D and 3D shapes)
Is it 2D or 3D? (12 shape cards and recording sheet)
Is it 2D or 3D? (12 shape cards with QR codes and recording sheets)
What Shape Is it? (3D shape guess and recording sheet)

2 Shape cover up with pattern blocks
I Can Make Pattern Block Shapes mini book (printable pattern blocks to cut out and paste into the book)
Is it a defining attribute or non-defining attribute mini book (9 pages includes both 2D and 3D shapes)
6 comparing shapes sheets (both 2D and 3D shapes)
I can partition shapes mini-book (partitioning circles, and rectangles)

This pack aligns to the Common Core:

CCSS.Math.Content.K.G.B.4 Analyze and compare two- and three-dimensional shapes, in different sizes and orientations, using informal language to describe their similarities, differences, parts (e.g., number of sides and vertices/“corners”) and other attributes (e.g., having sides of equal length).

CCSS.Math.Content.K.G.B.5 Model shapes in the world by building shapes from components (e.g., sticks and clay balls) and drawing shapes.

CCSS.Math.Content.K.G.B.6 Compose simple shapes to form larger shapes. For example, “Can you join these two triangles with full sides touching to make a rectangle?

CCSS.Math.Content.1.G.A.1 Distinguish between defining attributes (e.g., triangles are closed and three-sided) versus non-defining attributes (e.g., color, orientation, overall size); build and draw shapes to possess defining attributes.

CCSS.Math.Content.1.G.A.2 Compose two-dimensional shapes (rectangles, squares, trapezoids, triangles, half-circles, and quarter-circles) or three-dimensional shapes (cubes, right rectangular prisms, right circular cones, and right circular cylinders) to create a composite shape, and compose new shapes from the composite shape.

1CCSS.Math.Content.1.G.A.3 Partition circles and rectangles into two and four equal shares, describe the shares using the words halves, fourths, and quarters, and use the phrases half of, fourth of, and quarter of. Describe the whole as two of, or four of the shares. Understand for these examples that decomposing into more equal shares creates smaller shares.

CCSS.Math.Content.2.G.A.3 Partition circles and rectangles into two, three, or four equal shares, describe the shares using the words halves, thirds, half of, a third of, etc., and describe the whole as two halves, three thirds, four fourths. Recognize that equal shares of identical wholes need not have the same shape

CCSS.Math.Content.2.G.A.1 Recognize and draw shapes having specified attributes, such as a given number of angles or a given number of equal faces.1 Identify triangles, quadrilaterals, pentagons, hexagons, and cubes
