The next two pages show examples of the different figures in this packet. Students identify those that are congruent and write about two shapes using the vocabulary they have been practicing.
Odd One Out is an activity I use with small groups to have them practice using the vocabulary orally and justifying their answers. I give a half sheet with four shapes to each group of three or four students. They write their reasons for eliminating each shape. There is not a single correct answer. The emphasis is justifying their choice and using the vocabulary.
I have a set of 8 Vocabulary Cards with 8 Matching Definition Cards that let you create an interactive anchor chart. I use magnets on the side of my file cabinet to hold the cards in place. I can rearrange the cards and have whole groups, small groups and individuals practice matching.
There are two sets of foldables which have the same information as the vocabulary cards and the assessments. You can choose to run them back to back so the information is pre-printed or you can run the first of each sets and have students take their own notes.
