Not Just Another Word Wall: Geometry Vocabulary Activity is for grades 8-12, and homeschooling.
You could use this as a basic start to a word wall, or…
Use this activity to expose students to Geometry vocabulary before instruction begins and to help students recall prior knowledge. The Family Tree activity requires students to make observations based on the pictures and definitions of vocabulary terms to create groupings. Students work together in small groups or pairs to create the family tree and then explain their process and reasoning either verbally or as a written assessment.
This activity is also useful in helping students see their progress in learning Geometry Vocabulary by repeating it as a summative assessment and making comparisons to their first attempt.
Make the learning fun by turning the activity into a competition…most accurate and best justified family tree wins!
