This resource is specifically for gifted or advanced learners in your classroom. During the independent study, they will complete four lessons you give them at their own pace (area/perimeter, quadrilaterals, solid figures, and ratios/unit rates). Once they have mastered each concept, the students work on a Game Show Menu from which they select activities worth varying amounts of points--all totaling 100 points. The Menu offers activities based on the same concepts as the lessons, but extends students knowledge to real-life situations.
This is great for differentiation by content, process, and product. Critical thinking and problem solving skills are heavily involved in the activities from the Game Show Menu. This will ensure that your gifted and advanced students have challenging content to work with while you have the time needed to give direct instruction to the rest of your class.
