Reinforce comprehension skills while you teach your class about George Washington. This package has a comprehension sheet on George Washington with 12 comprehension questions. This comprehension sheet can be used whole group as an instructive tool for 5th and 6th graders or it can be used in cooperative groups as students help each other read the article and find the answers. For the older student, it can be used individually as a comprehension test. This sheet can also be used as an example for each student to create their own article about a subject pertaining to George Washington and this period of history. Thirty topics are included for additional research. An idea for creating a comprehension kit is included. Create this kit and use it each year to teach American History and develop better comprehension skills. This package also includes one of my favorite art activities that create an abstract drawing of George Washington or Martha Washington. Turn your class on to history and reinforce good comprehension and writing skills at the same time.
