George Washington Carver was known as the Peanut Man but he was so much more and this Power Point was created to honor his legacy.
This Power Point (39 slides) is used to teach primary children about the famous African-American scientist. It gives a brief biography and goes into the parts of a plant and specifically how peanuts uniquely grow. It was designed for first grade English Language Development students but is appropriate for grades K-3. It can be used for Black History Month or a thematic unit on Plants. My class makes Peanut Butter using peanuts (crushed in a food processor), salt, honey or a small amount of milk and a strong blender.
