Product Description
The reading begins with Washington's appointment to command the newborn American army.

Featured are the shortcomings he faced: lack of food, ammunition, tents, bayonets and more, poor discipline, militia prone to flee in the middle of battle, and his own mistakes as commander.

Washington learns from those mistakes, turns the tide at Trenton, holds his army together during a terrible winter at Valley Forge, and eventually defeats the British at Yorktown.

The story ends there; but the focus throughout is on a man of character and strong-willed leadership.
