Product Description
Students will examine primary and secondary sources that reveal Washington's lifelong struggle with slavery. Two lessons are included. One is appropriate for APUSH students and involves creating a DBQ set of documents. Students will explore the documents via discussion, select 7 documents, and categorize them into paragraphs for a change and continuity over time DBQ. Students will end with writing a thesis statement and discussing why they picked certain documents and the value of constructing a DBQ prompt. The second lesson also utilizes discussing the documents, creating a timeline documenting the changes in Washington's views and an exit ticket.
