61 page unit plan — Our unit on George Washington’s Farewell Address is designed for both English Language Arts and history teachers. It is a self-contained unit appropriate for comprehensive, charter, and home school instruction.
Each lesson covers a variety of ELA Common Core Standards for grades 6-12, including Reading Standards for Informational Texts, Writing Standards for Informative/Explanatory Texts, Speaking and Listening Standards, and Language Standards.
The unit includes focusing activities, guided reading strategies, a variety of academic and creative text dependent lessons, a final 30 question multiple choice quiz, an additional activity for advanced learners, and a writing assessment with accompanying Powerpoint and Prezi presentations. We have included grading rubrics and keys for all relevant assignments.
