This is a complete set of questions (102) to provoke and test students' comprehension when reading the novel by Roald Dahl.
The questions are mainly low order - focused on reading and basic fact-finding. Some seek opinions from students on action or character, and encourage them to justify those opinions. Some questions direct students to find the meanings of words.
I usually give each student a copy of the questions when we begin the novel, and then use as homework, classwork etc.. It gives students a chance to show off their knowledge of the events in the novel. I'm often amazed to rediscover that students love the routine of answering questions in this format. I also use this exercise with weak and ESL students, insisting that they write full sentences as answers.
There are 102 questions in total. It's 5 page student handout, in Word format, so editable to suit your class. The 5 page answer key is also included.
The preview file contains the questions (and answer key) for Chapters 1 (Grandma) and 2 (The Marvellous Plan). Even if you don't purchase my product, this will give you a useful start to your study of this very enjoyable novel.
