This packet contains two files. The first file has 3 pages for students to take notes on as they research the five habitats/regions of Georgia. There are places for students to list animals that live in each region, trees/plants that grow in each region and ways that man has impacted each region. There is also a place to list the websites/resources that they utilized during the activity.
The second file has one, lined page that you can copy for students to use to write a paper that shares the information they have found. I instruct my students to create one paragraph for each region and show them how to take their notes and create complete sentences for each fact.
I have my students do the research in small groups so that they can collaborate and help each other out. Then I have them do the written paper on their own. We use the computer lab to use Cobb Virtual Library for the research. I give them 2-45 minute sessions for the research.
