This project includes 4 downloadable printables. The first is a short biography about the artist that can be read to your students. The second is an example of one of Georgia O'Keefes famous paintings. The third is a template for the students to begin their art work on. It is a black and white drawing of an animal skull which she often used in her paintings. Students should create their own desert style background and include flowers which were Georgia's favorite subjects to pain. Students can add their art to the template with pencil, outline and black and then color them in. The fourth is an example of the end result using colored pencils. Georgia worked in watercolors so for the classroom teacher colored pencils would be the best substitute. However, this project can be done in markers or crayons too.
