In Georgia 3rd grade curriculum students are required to learn about the lives of nine historical figures: Paul Revere, Susan B. Anthony, Cesar Chavez, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Eleanor Roosevelt, Frederick Douglas, Lyndon B. Johnson, Thurgood Marshall, and Mary Mcleod Bethune. This timeline can be used as a visual in your classroom as you study each historical figure or as a test prep center. Students can add facts and questions on the timeline to make it interactive and student centered. I use painters tape to mark off a place in the room as our timeline, laminate all the components, and use this resource as an ongoing project and reteaching tool. It is a great introduction to every historical figure lesson! This product includes...
-Teaching ideas for the timeline (project ideas, test prep, and center ideas provided on detailed PowerPoint slides for educators)
- 27 pages of timeline components
- One page photograph of each historical figure
-Name and date of lifespan for each historical figure
- Facts page for each historical figure that includes information stated Georgia Performance Standards.
- Fact page for each figure includes: Birthplace, occupation, obstacles, character traits with definition for each term, influence, and important facts
