This is a three part unit by Reading Through History which covers America in the 1970s. This download includes a biography of Gerald Ford, a lesson documenting the Bicentennial Celebration in 1976, and a reading activity describing daily life in the United States during the 1970s. There is enough material to cover 2-3 days of class, depending on if one or two lessons are done in a standard 50 minute class.
*My students typically finish a lesson in about 25 to 30 minutes. It allows for two lessons to be completed in a class period, or for introduction and discussion before or afterward.
