Cut out the pictures and paste them onto index cards. Laminate them for multiple uses. Each card says "Ich bin ein/eine" and then has a picture of an animal, with the exception of the first and last cards - they are marked accordingly. This creates a set of 30 cards to use in a standard upper elementary, middle or even high school beginning to intermediate level German classroom. Pass out one or two cards to each student, but the game will only work if all cards are in use. The students create a conversation/question/answer chain as they practice animal names and colors in German.
Student A: Beginn: "Wer ist ein blauer Elefant?" (read straight from the card)
Student B: "Ich bin ein blauer Elefant!" (student only reads the words "Ich bin ein" and has to come up with the color "blau" and the animal "Elefant" based on the picture shown. Depending on German level, you may also have them practice coming up with the correct adjective ending "blauer" or choose to let this not matter)
Student B: "Wer ist ein grünes Krokodil?"
Student C: "Ich bin ein grünes Krokodil!"
...and so on!
If you would like to see a picture of how I made up the cards or would like any more details, just write a comment! Viel Spaß!
