Sometimes, despite our best efforts, it can be a major challenge to get our French students to participate in authentic communicative activities...especially when it comes to speaking! This activity - which I call a Persona Party - has students taking on the persona of the subject of a random photo, filling out a personal questionnaire as that persona, and then interacting as that persona during mixer with the other students who have taken on personas of their own. A fun twist at the end makes the whole thing into an entertaining and motivating game!
This activity is guaranteed to get your students talking in the target language. But, even better than that...they will be participating in spontaneous, authetic dialogue! This makes Persona Party a great activity for a drama or English class working on drama or character development!
Included in this Partage Pour Profs lesson are:
1) 30 photos to hand out to students to use in creating their personas
2) Detailed directions for how to implement the lesson, with three variations (for large, small and beginner classes)
3) Leveled questionnaires (beginner, intermediate and advanced French, as well as a BONUS English/Drama questionnaire)
