Product Description

Thank you for taking a look at my product.

This pack currently includes 22 activities for both reading and math. I have used this pack in my own classroom with success, and have made it into an independent center.

✩ Mississippi teachers: This pack is MKAS aligned! ✩

This pack can be printed double sided to make it self checking for most activities, all you need to do is laminate and cut it out!

This pack was created with student growth in mind. After taking the STAR test, you can log in to your school’s account and group your students by their score and print a report to see what skills they need to work on in order to grow. These skills were taken from these reports and activities have been created. The activities that are in this pack are mainly teacher directed, as the teacher needs to ask the questions, but some can then be altered to place into an independent center for students to practice once the directions have been explained.

The 22 activites include:

Uppercase/lowercase letter sorting

Letter/word sort

Reading and counting words and spaces

Which letter is different?

Which number is different?

Which is a letter, not a word?

Alphabet sequencing

Which word is different?

Beginning/middle/ending sounds

Different beginning sound

Word choice

Rhyme discrimination

Beginning Sounds

Counting syllables

Uppercase/lower case matching

Quanitity discrimination

Addition problems

Subtraction problems

Teacher tip: If your school allows you to, take the test yourself, or watch a student take the test! Some of the deficits that we found, were the way that the questions were being asked, as well as how the materials were presented. We took the test ourselves and watched students in order to take notes on the wording so that students could find the same answer being asked different ways.
