We play this game in class to work on adding and exchanging money, and making change from a dollar. Students roll two dice, add them up, and take that amount in coins. They then record their data for how much they collected, total amount, and how much more needed to get to 100 cents, or one dollar. I give students a coin equivalency sheet, as well as a paper hundred chart to help them add and keep track of their rolls. Higher students do pretty well solving it mentally.
