Help new students get to know their classmates with this fun ice-breaker activity. They'll be moving around and building relationships right from the start! Each student mingles with a bingo grid and must ask classmates if the grid facts apply to them. The grids contain sentences such as, "I play an instrument in the band." When a student replies yes that a fact applies, the name is written in the box. When a student fills the entire grid, he shouts, Bingo!"
The download includes a follow-up written assignment. Students are to write a sentence in the third person for each square on the grid, and a vocabulary word for 6 clip art images.
This activity includes a list of Spanish cognates so it can also be used in beginning Spanish classes. After students have completed their bingo grids, they can match English words from the grid with Spanish cognates on the list.
A Spanish version of this activity is also available on TpT.
