This lesson is designed for 7-12th grade special education students to help them get to know their IEP. The first three pages help explain what an IEP is and it explains the main parts of the IEP such as the cover page, the performance of educational achievement and functional performance page, the goals pages, and the accommodations page (program summary). The last two pages are a 13 question worksheet that the student must fill out by using their IEP. They must look through their IEP and answer the questions on the worksheet. For example: What is one of your goals in your IEP? Some students do not attend their IEP and/or may be intimidated. This helps explains the basics of the IEP and why it is important to attend.
