Keep your students organized at the beginning and end of the day with a Getting Ready Checklist. Each student would have a copy of the checklist (two sided), either laminated or in a sheet protector, and they can check of their to-do lists with a white board marker as they complete their tasks. One side has a list for when they first enter the classroom the back is for cleaning up at the end of the day. This will reduce the amount of time the teacher spends making sure the students are being responsible. They can be accountable for their own getting ready tasks.
In the zip file I included both the pdf version and the publisher version so you can edit the document (note: the fonts are not default, so they may not appear on your computer in the publisher version like they will in the pdf). The tasks you want your students to do at the beginning and end of each day most likely won't be the same as mine, so I want you to be able to edit this in a way that fits your classroom if need be.
