This emergent reader little book is a great way to begin reading with young students. This story uses a predictable pattern to support emerging readers.
On the first page of the book, Santa says, "I am getting ready for Christmas Eve. What do I need?" On the next pages, different items that Santa would need are shown. These items are included: hat, suit, boots, mittens, sleigh, sack, and reindeer. The text on these pages follows this pattern: Here is/are Santa's _______/ Santa needs his ________.
This story reviews these sight words: here, is, are, his, I, am, and for.
This book includes the same text on both the top and bottom of each sheet of paper to make copying, sorting, stapling, and cutting easy to create a class set of little books!!
