Consonantly Speaking

At the beginning of each school year, or when I first meet a new client, I like to get to know who I will be working with! This year, I had a significant amount of students working on different speech sounds. I decided instead of asking the usual questions (i.e. "who is in your family?", "what do you do at recess?", "what do you do after school?") that I would create pages to use as a getting to know you activity with my clients'/students' speech sounds! This way, I could not only get a baseline or feel for my clients'/students' sound errors, but learn about them and have fun!

This activity can be used for asking and answering questions about a clients'/students' favorite items/things using their speech sounds. I have my children ask each other and me the questions. For some children, especially my non-readers, I will ask them the questions for auditory bombardment of their sound. The sheets do include images for non-readers as well as a sentence strip with images for a carrier phrase. I would recommend using this activity for early elementary children in speech therapy.

The sounds included in this packet are /t/, /d/, /k/, /g/, /f/, /v/, /s/, /z/, /l/, and /r/. I will be adding data sheets to my next update and increasing the price slightly, so get it now to get the update for free!
