Use these 20 (plus 4 bonus) task cards as a fun “getting-to-know-you” activity for your students. Not only will it allow your students to get to know each other, but it will also get them up and moving!
Print out the cards and post around your classroom then provide each student with a recording sheet. Each of the 20 task cards requires students to ask a classmate ask a personal question (questions cover a range of topics). Students are to move around the room, choose a task card they’d like to complete and ask the task card question to one of their classmates. They must record the task card number, name of classmate they asked and their classmate’s answer.
This activity not only provides students with a choice (they can choose which task cards to complete) but also encourages interaction with various classmates.
If students complete ten of the task cards, they can move onto one (or several) of the 4 bonus task cards included.
Examples of task card questions:
- What is your favorite color?
- What was the name of your teacher last year?
- What is your favorite sport to play?
- What is the last thing you ate?
- How many siblings do you have?
and many more!
**Task cards are provided in two versions - color and black & white**
